Out with the Old School
As former high school teachers ourselves, we were tired of math lessons that were built around taking notes and didn't engage students in real thinking. That lit a fire under us to implement a new school approach to learning; one that centers around the student.
Using the Experience First, Formalize Later (EFFL) model, we were able to better engage the entire classroom. After using this model in our classrooms at the most diverse public high school in Michigan, we knew we couldn't stop there. We wanted to share our lessons with teachers through what has become known as "Math Medic." And now, nine years later, over 100,000 teachers across the U.S. trust us to help them teach their students with our free daily lesson plans.
