Early Solutions for the 2026 AP Statistics Exam

Luke Wilcox

With big changes coming to the AP Exam for next year, the 2026 AP Stats Exam represents the end of an era. The last AP Stats exam to have six free response questions. The last AP Stats exam to be graded with E, P, and I. The last AP Stats exam to have an Investigative Task (RIP).Ā

It is also the last AP Exam for some content that we love and will miss. Maybe the exam writers knew this as they used this last chance to slide in a few questions about geometric distributions, and at least a reference to inference for slope (maybe we won’t actually miss this one).Ā

The two major themes for context were farms (goats, rosebushes, and oranges) and sports (team song length, ages of different sports, and baseball analysis).

As far as predictions, we chose the wrong significance test (although chi-square did show up in Question #5), but we were right on a few other guesses (describe relationship, make a prediction, joint and conditional probability).

As is tradition now, here is our first attempt at solutions. Please be gentle if we made any mistakes!
